Army Ants Movers and Storage occupy a large storage warehouse based in Leyland, Preston. This is a secure 24 hour manned site by Lancashire County Council on an appointment only basis, fully equipped with the latest CCTV and Redcare which is linked to all emergency services. At any one time we have around 25-30 full house contents in our warehouse as most of our customers need to break their chain in order not to lose their sale on a property.
You can contact us directly and Anthony will discuss your requirements before booking you in for a visual survey. On the day of your survey Anthony equates the volume of your possessions and makes a list of any items that may need special attention in regards to special preparation coverings, he then produces a total volume figure. When the total volume is calculated we can then inform you exactly of the move into storage cost, the cost per week for your storage plan and then also your move costs to your new home when you have your move date. Please note we do need a declaration of total value of goods to be stored and there will be a small charge per week.
Army ants Staff arrive on your specified move date and start by prepping your main access doors, all carpets, banister rails and follow any other special requirements that Anthony has evaluated during the survey. Our team will then have a gentle walk around the house with the customer and identify certain items that may require special attention while your dedicated move manager starts the inventory and full condition report for the items that will be stored with us.
Our expert removals staff will start by loading the items into our special storage containers which will already be on the truck. Each container is 250 cubic feet of capacity and it is loaded with the utmost care and attention, utilising special blankets and card. Once each container is filled the door to the container is then placed back on with your details clearly displayed on each one. Once the whole consignment has been loaded the truck will then return to our storage depot where the forklift will be used to take the full containers off into our secure warehouse, each container labeled up with your details and then stacked into your allocated bay. Once the containers have been carefully loaded into position the job sheet is handed to Anthony who then moves you on to our special storage system which tracks your storage and generates invoice emails.
In regards to storage charges Anthony will supply you with a weekly cost based on total storage volume and a unique storage reference number. Clients pay every 4 weeks and are billed directly from our dedicated storage system.
Our Storage pricing is cheaper than self storage facilities as most of them ask for a large upfront payment, and when you move out you do not receive any refund for overpayment. We have a MAGIC move out button, so for example if you have paid three weeks extra then we can press this button which will work out your refund to the nearest half a day, hence you are not losing money like self storage contracts. With Army Ants you only pay for the time you use.
Once you have booked your moving out day we will have the containers loaded the day before, or on the morning of your move out day, and then travel to your new home, this is usually the day after your completion day. We start with the home preparation as mentioned above and our staff commence a walk round so that they will be familiar with the new house's layout and identify each room. It's also a good idea that customers bring some post-it notes and stick them on each door casing with the associated rooms names meaning we can crack on with the correct distribution of the items. Our highly trained staff are always mindful of large items that may need to be built up and need moving in the exact position, and you can be sure that each room will be set out exactly how you want it with any final tweaks and adjustments happily carried out.
Once the Army Ants team have finished we have a final 'JIG' we call it, to make sure everything is exactly where our clients want it, some items can be extremely heavy so let us do the moving! Upon completion we will supply you with a review link as it is very important to us that we have excellent feedback from highly satisfied customers for all potential storage clients
