In 2017 Army Ants Removals were invited by BAE Systems to survey a very large commercial premises which housed scientific instruments for soil samples in relation to commercial industrial building contracts. This project was a complicated one again with regards to the specialist equipment that they had and the high value of that equipment. As part of the project we were also asked to move all generic office equipment, stock and inspection cabinets from the higher floors. The inspection cabinets were a particular challenge as they could not be dismantled and had to come out via a sidewall. Upon producing a risk assessment and method statement we used a cherry picker with a platform and carefully extracted the cabinets from the first floor to the ground floor where they were then relocated to the new site. This project required a lot of thinking, careful planning and many staff briefings but the result of this was a successful and smooth removal. In total this project took 6 days to complete with 265 LC3 crates moved and items totaling a volume of 12,000 cubic ft.
